Pigg's Lawn & Pest

Our lawn care program

Seven core treatments a year, timed to Charlotte's seasons, to feed your lawn and keep weeds in check.

Technician fertilizing a residential lawn

Each visit is planned for your grass type and the season. We choose EPA-registered products carefully, keep glyphosate out of our standard program, and follow label directions on every application.

After each visit you'll get a digital report with clear instructions on when kids and pets can go back on the lawn, including any drying time.

What to expect through the year

Exact timing and products depend on your grass type and the weather. This is a typical year:

  1. Visit 1

    Late winter

Pre-emergent weed control to stop crabgrass and other weeds before they sprout.

  2. Visit 2

    Spring

Fertilization and post-emergent treatment for broadleaf weeds as the lawn wakes up.

  3. Visit 3

    Early summer

Feeding matched to your turf type and continued weed control.

  4. Visit 4

    Summer

Treatments timed for heat stress, plus a lawn inspection.

  5. Visit 5

    Fall

Recovery feeding and the best time for aeration and fescue overseeding.

  6. Visit 6

    Late fall

Pre-emergent and broadleaf control for cool-season weeds.

  7. Visit 7

    Winter

Root-building treatment to prepare the lawn for spring.
